A Worsening Cough: An Unusual Presentation of Malignant Mesothelioma

Localized malignant pleural mesothelioma (LMPM) is a rare cancer with poor survival rates. Often affecting males asbestos exposure, we report case of 56-year-old female no history occupational exposure presenting worsening cough. A radiological examination revealed left effusion and thickening. Cytological pathological reports samples were consistent epithelioid type, the histological via video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) clear cell mesothelioma. We discuss rapid presentation disease emphasis on considering in young patients prior exposure.
